Rich, protective care with bee-derived ingredients

This treatment is designed for areas of very dry, rough or weather-stressed skin such as heels, elbows, hands and fingertips.

A warm propolis-containing cream is applied first, followed by a layer of warmed beeswax. Together they create a rich, occlusive application that helps reduce moisture loss while the skin remains comfortably covered and warm.

Why beeswax and propolis?

Beeswax is widely used in skin-care preparations because it forms a protective layer on the surface of the skin and helps slow moisture loss.

Propolis is a resinous material produced by bees from plant-derived substances and is chemically complex. It has a long history of traditional and cosmetic use, but at Amber Sea Holistics it is not presented as a treatment for infection, inflammation, wounds or other medical skin conditions.

Here, both materials are valued for their texture, protective character and suitability within a rich topical application.

What to expect

A warm cream containing propolis is applied to the selected area, followed by a layer of warmed beeswax, usually at approximately 40–45°C, provided the temperature is comfortable and appropriate for the client.

The beeswax forms an occlusive covering that reduces moisture loss from the skin. It is left in place for approximately 30 minutes before being removed. Longer exposure is not necessarily better: prolonged occlusion can trap perspiration and overhydrate the outer layers of the skin, leaving them overly softened or macerated.

The treatment is intended to leave very dry skin feeling softer, smoother and more comfortably conditioned.

Where it may be used

This type of application can be particularly suitable for areas such as:

  • dry or rough heels
  • elbows
  • hands and fingertips
  • other localized areas of thickened, dry skin

It is not applied over open wounds, active infection, broken skin or areas where heat or occlusion would be inappropriate.

Before booking

This treatment is not suitable for clients with a known allergy or sensitivity to beeswax, propolis or other bee-derived ingredients.
