Heat, minerals and stillness in an enveloping body treatment

Thermal Mud Wrap at Amber Sea Holistics uses Dead Sea mud, warmed before application and applied directly to the skin.

Once the mud is in place, the treated area or entire body is wrapped to help maintain warmth and prolonged contact. The treatment is slow and largely passive — warmth, stillness and the physical character of the mud are the central elements.

Why Dead Sea mud?

Dead Sea mud is a naturally mineral-rich material containing salts and mineral compounds including magnesium, calcium, potassium and iron.

Its composition and texture make it very different from ordinary cosmetic clay. At Amber Sea Holistics, however, it is not presented as a treatment for arthritis, psoriasis, inflammation or other medical conditions.

The mud is used for what it genuinely brings to the treatment: warmth, mineral contact, texture and an extended period of occlusive body care.

What makes the treatment different?

Unlike massage, most of this treatment does not involve continuous manual work.

Warm mud is applied evenly, after which the body is wrapped in an insulating layer and allowed to rest.

The temperature, amount of mud, treatment area and duration are adjusted according to the individual client and how the treatment is tolerated.

What to expect

The Dead Sea mud is warmed to a comfortable temperature before application.

Once wrapped, you remain comfortably still for approximately 30–45 minutes. The temperature and your comfort are monitored throughout.

Afterwards, the mud is removed with warm, damp towels.

The skin commonly feels softer and smoother after the treatment, while the combination of warmth and stillness can make the session feel deeply restful.

Before booking

Thermal Mud Wrap is not performed over:

  • broken or wounded skin
  • active skin infection or significant irritation
  • acutely inflamed or visibly swollen areas
  • recently injured or recently operated areas

Heat-based treatments also require additional caution where there is altered skin sensation, impaired ability to judge temperature, or other circumstances that could make prolonged warmth inappropriate.

If I consider the skin, treatment area or general condition unsuitable for a heated wrap, the treatment will not be performed.

Thermal Mud Wrap is a wellness and cosmetic skin-care treatment and is not intended to diagnose, treat or cure medical conditions.
