Warmth, Chocolate and Slow Body Care

Chocolate Massage at Amber Sea Holistics is a full-body treatment built around warmth, texture and prolonged contact with high-cacao dark chocolate.

I use 85% vegan-friendly dark chocolate, gently melted and blended with a small amount of massage oil to create a smooth mixture that can be worked comfortably over the skin.

This is not chocolate added to a conventional massage for novelty. The chocolate, the warmth and the period of quiet wrapping are central to the treatment itself.

Why cacao?

Cacao is a naturally complex plant material. Dark chocolate contains cocoa butter alongside naturally occurring polyphenols, theobromine, small amounts of caffeine and various minerals.

These make cacao chemically interesting, but Chocolate Massage itself has not been studied well enough to support claims that it treats cellulite, acne, ageing or other skin conditions.

At ASH, cacao is therefore valued for what it genuinely brings to the treatment: warmth, emollience, texture, aroma and a distinctive sensory experience on the skin.

What makes Chocolate Massage different?

The warm chocolate-and-oil mixture is gradually worked over the body using slow, comfortable movements.

Once the application is complete, the body is wrapped in an insulating blanket. This helps maintain warmth and keeps the chocolate mixture in prolonged contact with the skin while the body rests.

Rather than continuously working the body for the entire session, part of this treatment is deliberately still.

During the wrap

The body remains comfortably wrapped for approximately 60 minutes.

During this time, you may choose between a calming face-and-neck massage or a mini facial.

The aim is not to fill every minute with activity. The stillness is part of the treatment — time to be warm, quiet and undisturbed.

What to expect afterwards

At the end of the treatment, the chocolate mixture is carefully removed with warm, wet towels.

Because chocolate contains naturally fatty cocoa components and is combined with massage oil, the skin will often feel noticeably soft, smooth and supple afterwards.

At Amber Sea Holistics Chocolate Massage is not perceived as regeneration, detoxification or treatment of a skin disorder. It is simply the result of a warm, emollient full-body treatment.

The experience

Chocolate Massage is especially suited to people who enjoy warmth, slow-paced treatments and long periods of quiet rest.

It is rich and enveloping, but it is not intended to be theatrical or merely indulgent. The character of the treatment comes from the combination of cacao, warmth, touch, wrapping and stillness.

Before booking

Chocolate Massage is not suitable for anyone with a known allergy or sensitivity to chocolate, cacao or any of the ingredients used in the treatment.

Treatment may need to be postponed or adapted in cases of acute illness or fever, open wounds or active skin infection, significant skin irritation, recent surgery or significant injury.

Menstruation

At Amber Sea Holistics, I generally advise postponing full-body treatments during menstruation. This is a precaution based on practitioner experience, as some clients have reported increased bleeding following intensive bodywork or heat-based treatments.

This is not presented as a universal medical rule. If your healthcare professional has no concerns, the decision to proceed remains at your own discretion.

Pregnancy

Pregnancy is approached with extra caution, particularly because this treatment involves prolonged warmth and body wrapping.

Please let me know before booking if you are pregnant. Depending on the stage of pregnancy and your individual circumstances, I may recommend postponing the treatment or discussing it with your healthcare professional.

Where the treatment can be performed safely, the final decision remains at the client’s own discretion.
